KHS 139 - Tip Project: "Movable"
In my KHS 139 class one of the assignment was to create a product that would engage students to move in a classroom environment. This concept is also referred to as ‘brain breaks’. My group and I created a fun and easy activity that can be used in grade 1-3 classroom.
What is it?
In my group we designed a card game called ‘Movables’ that is easy and efficient in a classroom setting. We were inspired by the game called “Cards Against Humanity.” Although the two games have nothing in common, they share the same types of cards. The cards consist of two different types the ‘subject’ and ‘variable’ cards. The subject cards have complete sentences that have missing blanks throughout the sentence. The sentence is filled with variable cards. The variable cards consist of a movement words, the words help describe the sentence.

How to play?
Depending on how many students are playing the amount of cards will vary. For example if there is four players then each player will get three Variable cards. Each player will take turns picking a Subject card and being the ‘judge’. Once the judge picks a subject card, the players pick the best variable card that matches the subject card. Once the judge collects all the card, the judge will read out the subject card filling the blank spot with the variable cards. As the cards are being called out the players will act out the movement that is being described on the card. The judge will do this to all of the cards. Once they are all called out the judge will pick out a winner for that run. Whoever wins gets a token, whoever gets 5 tokens first wins.
